Did Someone say Chinese Food?

Okay, I confess. I love those flavors. Spicy, savory, a little sweet and sour.  Fried rice, crab rangoon, oh my. I found a great fried rice recipe that I serve to company with many sides. I also have a question,  If I take all of my bookmarks and pitch them, I could just tell you about new things I found. But then there would be no more bookmarks, but we could start something new. I'm thinking about it so stay tuned. It may be a once a week in depth thing. For now, have a great day and a better one tomorrow. https://joyfoodsunshine.com/asian-chicken-lettuce-wraps/ https://www.aheadofthyme.com/60-chinese-takeout-recipes-at-home/ Oh. I found a Facebook page that you can follow too. https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/g3153/chinese-food-recipes/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=arb_ga_del_m_bm_prog_org_us_g3153&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2MWVBhCQARIsAIjbwoMqrdkBCn8oFV3puSFWx18v706fbcehfIKvqbuPZdbClGZzEI-p6dkaAvKzEALw_wcB

Musical Poetry

Have musical instruments ever sparked your imagination? Take a look at these next few links and be amazed at what musical instruments can do. The first one is absolutely amazing.   https://youtu.be/gaQYb4Ykhz8 https://youtu.be/MSqtLmrGQJA https://biggeekdad.com/2019/02/20-instruments-in-1/

What's a Fondue Anyway?

Do you like cheese or chocolate? I love having these at little gatherings that we have. Haven't made them in a while but I love the classic cheese fondue and I love variations of chocolate fondu. Below sreome of my go-to's. Cheese fondue you can dip almost about anything if you have some medium rare steak cubes small roasted potatoes cut into bite-sized chunks, crustini, vegetables, your ideas can be endless. And chocolate, need I say more. If you have a favorite that you'd like to please comment. Remember, there's no rhyme or reason for my blog, I'm merely breaking out my bookmarks. For now have a great day and a better one tomorrow. https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/classic-swiss-cheese-fondue Here is a site with many variations. https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/fondue-recipes/

DIY Under the Stairs Closet

Closet makeover. Have you ever wanted to redo that small closet under the stairway? Here's a link to help. Or a different take on a table runner? Pilaf

every once in awhile we go somewhere and they serve a pilaf with our dinner. There are several dishes that are called pilaf but the link below is one of my favorites and I have served it at luncheons I have attended. This would be a great potluck dish to take as it serves four to six people as a meal or many if they spoon it onto their plate at a potluck. Don't forget to cook your rice a day ahead of time. If you have a great pilaf recipe I'd love to hear it.  I'm always willing to try something new. The first link is my favorite and I have added a few others that I feel are worthy of this blog. I love Corn on the Cob

Here comes summer in Illinois and the corn on the cob is starting to hit the stores and Farmers market stands. If you've never made corn chowder I found the best recipe. If you needed a little thicker soup, just take a couple ladles of the soup and put it in a blender and pour it back in. I love how they saved the cobs and made the liquid base with them. You can even make sure all the corn kernels are off of them,  let them cool and let your toddlers gnaw on them like a treat. This next link is my favorite. For now have a great day and a better one tomorrow. https://natashaskitchen.com/corn-chowder-recipe/

Copycat

Copycat.  What does that word actually mean? Well looking it up on the web I found this information in one place. (A person who copies another's behavior, dress, or ideas.) There are so many copycat ideas out there but my favorite are the recipes and below I'm linking a few of my favorites like the Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana. That soup is down to earth soul soothing. There's not much more you can say about that soup. How about Wendy's chili?  Who doesn't like that? Go ahead and click all of the links below.  They should take you to your next meal.  If you have a copycat recipe you'd love to share, I'd love to try it. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/copycat-zuppa-toscana-5565099 https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/231082/just-like-wendys-chili/ https://copykat.com/burger-king-whopper/ https://copykat.com/chipotle-cilantro-lime-rice-recipe/ https://copykat.com/cracker-barrel-old-country-store-fried-apples/ https://www.google.com/search?q...

Fruit Again?

With the grandkids arriving soon we're going to have to look for ways to keep those little ones busy. There are so many things that we can create with food I'd like to share a few. Or how about a dip for your fruit? You can create fun animals, bugs or if you like sushi, these should spark your interest.  Put your skills to the test on these next few links.  For now have a great day and a better one tomorrow. https://www.biggerbolderbaking.com/fresh-fruit-sushi/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/36662184445810447/  https://www.browneyedbaker.com/fruit-dip-recipe/ https://www.naturespath.com/en-us/recipes/fruit-vegetable-bug-snacks/?fbclid=IwAR0vaIkekfcPGuVk7pjpkwEaz21Q94_AnS5Fn_2yRZlRorks1oMBtMwF4yE
